In College the name tag on my door simply read "Tyson". My dorm mates assumed I would be a large black man who liked to play basketball. Instead they got a skinny white kid from Colorado, and soon they started calling me "White Ty"
It's more than that, black tie events always seemed so closed off, and restricted. I desire the events I am a part of to be inviting and open. White the opposite of black.
